　　Bachelor of Marketing and Media

　　New social media, alongside traditional media forms, are a huge part of our everyday lives and marketing companies have been tapping into this to reach wider audiences. The Marketing and Media degree offers the best of both worlds because employers are increasingly in need of graduates who understand media trends as well as marketing strategies. Macquarie University is the place to study these because of our qualified staff and our great facilities – professional studio spaces, industry-standard digital workstations and a theatre for screenings.

　　Bachelor of Information Technology – Games Design and Development

　　Games are a huge industry at the moment and they are one of the few arts areas that are continuing to grow and make money. The game-specific subjects in this degree allow for both creative and analytical thinking while complementary subjects grounds students with IT skills that are valued in nearly all professions. Whether you’re interested in console, PC or other games this degree gives you an understanding of how to create them as well as how they work in society.

　　Macquarie University offers dozens of majors that are most often studied within a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Social Science or a Bachelor of Commerce. However they may be added to other courses and many of Macquarie’s degrees offer the flexibility and space to undertake a double major.

　　Human Geography major

　　This major focuses on the increasingly important areas of community planning, health, development environment and politics. You can tailor the major to suit your specific interests and many of the units include exciting fieldwork opportunities.

　　Sociolinguistics major

　　This looks at the connections between human language and society. It has opportunities for internships and is great to combine with other majors such as media, politics, literature or foreign languages.

　　Psychological Science major

　　For those with an interest in human behaviour who don’t want to become an accredited psychologist, the psychological science major is a useful complement to any job that involves working with people.

　　Business Information Systems major

　　Businesses often use IT and web technology to engage customers effectively and operate more efficiently. An understanding of these systems is highly regarded in most organisations and becoming an expert in the field should make you highly sought after.

　　Interactivity and Games major

　　This major is a good complement to media, IT or writing. Macquarie has specially equipped computer labs and digital production tools to give you practical experience while you also learn about the influence of games on culture and society.

　　Public Sector Management major

　　People interested in managing programs and policies to help the community would be interested in this major. Employment prospects include working closely with and advising government ministers, industry and community leaders.
